Overcasting: In Persian production, such as this, most carpets are given the selvedge as one phase of the finishing process. In this case, the sides are overcasted with wool. | ||

Blocking: Nearly every rug or carpet must be blocked in order to get it to lie flat and to try to get the edges relatively straight. This can take up to a week depending on the piece. | ![]() | ||
